Learning at CVLCC

Learning at CVLCC is academically rigorous and it is grounded in the school's four foundational pillars which are: Dual Language Immersion, Global Perspectives, Social Justice, and Community Engagement.

Our academic year runs on a "4 by 4 block schedule.  During each quarter, students take two accelerated classes, two yearlong classes, one elective class, and one project-based class. Accelerated classes meet daily whereas yearlong classes, electives, and project-based classes meet twice per week on Monday through Thursday. Fridays follow an A/B rotation.

Courses are taught in 75-minute and 85-minute instructional blocks, giving ample time for discussion and building understanding.   During the week every student has two blocks of time dedicated to independent study.

Every student's schedule is created to ensure there is a balance between courses taught in Spanish and in English in order for all to build strong biliteracy.
